Meet the artist: Mr Woody Woods

In this blog series, we get to know the artists behind the brilliant Little Print Shop of Horrors posters 2024 collection. You'll discover the story behind their poster concept and where you can find more of their awesome work!

We welcome Mr Woody Woods back for his second year supporting the Little Print Shop of Horrors! Mr Woody Woods is based in rainy Manchester, and specialises in Illustration & Art Direction. His top horror movie pick would be The Descent "mainly because it scared me senseless", which might not be the most inviting film recommendation we've heard recently!

Mr Woody Woods, please can you tell us about your poster idea, and why you chose this concept?
"I grew up watching a lot of Tim Burton films and it's maybe led to my slightly twisted style and sense of humour. Beetlejuice has a sequel coming out so it made me reminisce about the first one, it's iconic."
Mr Woody Woods, what inspired you to take part in the Little Print Shop initiative?
"Manchester has a massive, thriving creative scene and i'm constantly getting involved in various projects - whether that is for charity, a creative competition or donating art work to auctions. It's a massively important way of not only representing the North but also getting your name out there."

We'd love to hear more about your career journey, and biggest achievements so far?
"I work full time as a creative art director, but have illustrating on the side now for over 12 years. Illustration is a massive passion of mine - over the years i've been lucky enough to work with big clients like Dr Martens, BBC, Next, Marks & Spencer and Brewdog to name a few.

I recently also came up with an illustration that got turned into a mural in London - it used special pollution sucking paint that absorbed pollutants from it's surroundings - which was a bit different. My next goal is to launch a series of children's books or work on more editorial illustrations."

And finally, where can we see more of your brilliant work?
A massive thank you to Mr Woody Woods, supporting The Little Print Shop of Horrors with not one but TWO posters. We really appreciate your kind donation of time, working weekends and evenings around the day job, to help us raise money for Humans MCR. So go on folks, give Mr Woody Woods a follow and show him some love for his incredible contributions this year!
