Meet the artist: Jordan Yates

In this blog series, we get to know the artists behind the brilliant Little Print Shop of Horrors posters 2024 collection. You'll discover the story behind their poster concept and where you can find more of their awesome work.
We welcome Jordan Yates is back for his second year supporting the Little Print Shop of Horrors! Jordan is based in Manchester, and specialises in Design, Illustration & Animation. Jordan claims that Red Dragon is the ultimate horror movie of all time!
Jordan, please can you tell us about your poster idea, and why you chose this concept?
"I recently saw Alien Rommulous in the Cinema and thought it was fantastic, as well as true return to form for the franchise - the X-RAY scene (which my poster is based on) felt like one of the most iconic scenes in the film, and it pairs so well with a quote from the film about an astronaut needing space - the text of an astronaut needing space paired with a chest burster behind a ribcage about to break out just seems like a good way to pair the nice quote type & the horror illustration together!"
Jordan, what inspired you to take part in the Little Print Shop initiative?
"Creating a film poster is a passion shared by most designers and illustrators, but knowing that the poster I’ve created could support Humans MCR and help get food to folks across greater Manchester is a big motivator for me, so when CS emailed to ask if I wanted to be involved it was an easy yes! (Also you can find more info about the charity here: https://humansmcr.org/)"
We'd love to hear more about your career journey, and biggest achievements so far?
"I’ve been Freelance now for 5 years, prior to that I worked at a variety of in-house and agency roles - since becoming freelance, I’ve been fortunate enough to create work for a wide range of brand/clients from Mars to even Lancashire Police - but more recently I worked on a large illustrated mural in London Standsted airport which was an absolute joy of a project to be a part of - just need to book a flight from standsted now to check it out in person!"
And finally, where can we see more of your brilliant work?
"Website is www.studio-antigravity.com and I’m over on all the usual social channels too!"
We massively appreciate Jordan's kind donation of his time, helping us to raise money for Humans MCR, such an important MCR based charity who are tackling food poverty around the clock. If you don't follow Jordan yet, why not hit follow and show him some love for his awesome work and kindness.
