Meet the artist: Dotto

In this blog series, we get to know the artists behind the brilliant Little Print Shop of Horrors posters 2024 collection. You'll discover the story behind their poster concept and where you can find more of their awesome work!
We welcome Dotto, also known as Danielle Molyneux, or Dani if you're a close friend. She is based in rainy Manchester, and specialises in Typography and Graphic Lettering. Dotto claims that The Shining is the ultimate horror movie of all time, who agrees?

Dotto, please can you tell us about your poster idea, and why you chose this concept?
"While I'm not a huge fan of horror films – they mess with my head too much — I do love a good vampire film, and Lost Boys is a cult classic, with a killer soundtrack. And when I think of Lost Boys, I think of Cry Little Sister. An epic song that transports you into an awesome teenage-vampire-brat-pack fest. My design will be all type, no filler."
Dotto, what inspired you to take part in the Little Print Shop initiative?
"I love a poster design (obvs). Charity wise – being able to eat a healthy nutritious meal is a human right, right? Not something people should have to struggle with. So with that in mind I was more than happy to support this charity.
We'd love to hear more about your career journey, and biggest achievements so far?
"I studied Visual Communications at Leeds Arts Uni and spent the first half of my career working in design agencies, firstly in London, then back in Liverpool + Manchester. I worked across different disciplines but found my passion working with brand identity and typography. I  founded my own creative practice in 2017 — Dotto — with selected clients and collaborators including Adobe, Domestika, Barcelona School of Art + Design, Women in Film + TV & Buff Motion. My work's been featured in design press across the globe — from Manchester to Milan. Which is nice. I would say my favourite achievement so far was my first solo exhibition last year, which pushed and tested me in all sorts of ways. I feel really proud of that. I love to challenge myself so hoping my biggest achievement is yet to come."
And finally, where can we see more of your fabulous work?

We massively appreciate the kind donation form our artists this year, without them this initiative simply would not have happened. So go on folks, give Dotto a little follow and show her some support for her brilliant work and kindness.
