Meet the artist: Adam Richardson

In this blog series, we get to know the artists behind the brilliant Little Print Shop of Horrors posters 2024 collection. You'll discover the story behind their poster concept and where you can find more of their awesome work!

We welcome Adam Richardson. Adam is based in Manchester, and specialises in  AI image creation. We we're really excited to invite Adam to produce our first every AI created poster... how very modern of us. Adam claims that Gremlins is the ultimate horror movie!

Adam, please can you tell us about your poster idea, and why you chose this concept?
"My biggest obstacle with a brief based around horror movies, is that I’ve never really liked horror movies. So, I chose to journey back to the ‘scary’ movies of my childhood. I've always loved the Addams Family, but the summer camp scene from The Addams Family Values will forever be etched in my memory. The fact that Wednesday stays true to herself when thrown into a world of ‘normal folk’ is brilliantly done. I remember watching that at about 8 years old and thinking ‘I’d be Team Addams’ any day of the week. This quote from her, summed up that feeling perfectly."
Adam, what inspired you to take part in the Little Print Shop initiative?
"Working for charities is something I’ve done throughout my career. However, in the freelance world, I find the opportunities are often more limited than in agency life. So, as soon as I heard about LPSOH, I jumped at the opportunity. The chance to push creative boundaries and raise money for a worthy charity at the same time - it’s a no-brainer."

We'd love to hear more about your career journey, and biggest achievements so far?
"The first 17 years of my career were spent in art director roles in various Manchester ad agencies. I was lucky enough to work with some amazing clients, make some brilliant work and pick up the odd shiny award along the way. But despite having a ball for most of my career, my biggest achievement has been stepping away from that to follow my own path. Being an independent creative isn’t for everyone, but it is for me. It’s given me the freedom to play, time to experiment, the chance to work alongside some incredible people and kick-started my creativity."
And finally, where can we see more of your brilliant work?
"My advertising work can be found at adam-richardson.co.uk, with my AI based explorations at https://www.instagram.com/ai_by_ar/"
We massively appreciate the kind donation form our artists this year, without them this simply would not have happened. So go on folks, give Adam a little follow and show him some support for his brilliant work and kindness.
